Just thought I’d share a few pieces that are in my portfolio :)

tcarr12 asked: I love your illustrations :3 where do you go to art school?

Thanks so much! I graduated last spring from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Its a great school! I miss it.

Anonymous asked: I'm looking into art as a profession. It something I really love!!! :) Is it possible to make a living doing this? You seem to reply to people. I would love to hear what you are doing currently and if it is possible to make it as an artist. FOund you through youre other site. Love your work!!!

Thanks <3! Yes it is possible! I’m just starting out myself so I don’t have a lot of advice to give you based on my own experience, but I know for a fact that if you’re good enough, and persistent enough you can make it. Right now i’m working on my portfolio and trying to get children’s market illustration work (kids books, greeting cars, packaging, magazine illustrations, anything i can get my hands on really). It’s not easy, but you can’t let yourself get discouraged. Just keep making good art, and be persistent in sending your work possible clients and you’ll eventually start getting work. You should probably consider going to a good art school as well if this is what you really want to do. You’ll develop your skills, make connections from professors who are usually successful professionals in the field, and get a lot of helpful input on your work that you wouldn’t normally get.

hope that helped a little!

Oh my gosh! I am completely at a loss for words about the notes on my MDOWA piece! wow!

New (and old) followers: Thank you!<3 I’ll try to keep updating regularly, with art and things. You guys are awesome :)

A piece I did to be raffled off at the MDOWA (Mason-Dixon Out Door Writers Association) conference a few weekends ago. I haven’t painted anything like this before, but I think it turned out well. :)

I was at a baby shower today and they had this adorable idea to make blocks for the baby and leave out paint markers to decorate them. I did three. B for bear, A for alligator (which I realize now that I misspelled, i’ll have to tell them to add an L or their baby will be a terrible speller), and F for fox.

my mom did B too.

Also sorry for the crap phone pictures. My phone camera is really bad.
